We are seeking a dedicated and passionate individual to join our coaching staff as an Assistant Baseball Coach for the upcoming season at Park Rapids High School. The ideal candidate will support the head coach in developing student-athletes' skills, fostering teamwork, and promoting a positive and competitive environment. This seasonal position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to the growth of young athletes both on and off the field.
Responsibilities - Assist the head coach in planning and conducting daily practice sessions, focusing on skill development and game strategy. - Provide support during games, including managing player substitutions and maintaining team organization. - Help in the recruitment and evaluation of student-athletes for the baseball program. - Foster a positive team culture by promoting sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect among players. - Communicate effectively with players, parents, and school administration regarding team progress and expectations. - Assist in organizing team events, including fundraisers, community service, and team-building activities. - Monitor the academic progress of student-athletes and encourage a balance between academics and athletics. - Ensure compliance with all school, district, and state athletic policies and regulations.
Requirements - Previous experience playing or coaching baseball at the high school level or higher. - Strong knowledge of baseball fundamentals, rules, and strategies. - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to effectively interact with athletes, parents, and staff. - Ability to motivate and inspire young athletes to reach their full potential. - Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously. - Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team environment. - CPR and First Aid certification preferred, or willingness to obtain. - Must pass a background check as required by school district policies.
