Job Description
We are seeking a motivated
Scientist
with pharmaceutical industry experience to join our Quality team. The successful candidate will perform microbiological testing and provide support in a GMP-regulated laboratory environment. $24-29/hr BOE + PTO & Holiday Pay Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or related field Minimum 1 year of professional laboratory experience (excluding academic work) with hands-on microbiological assays and testing (required) Previous experience in the pharmaceutical industry with knowledge of USP
and
testing Experience in environmental monitoring, trending, and testing of utilities (desired) Strong written, verbal, organizational, and leadership skills Proficiency in Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), and computer applications, including spreadsheets and databases Ability to use a respirator and safely work with microorganisms and hot liquids Principal Accountabilities Conduct microbiological assays and testing, including: Turbidimetric, Chromogenic, and Gel Clot methods for bacterial endotoxin detection Manipulation and maintenance of ATCC microorganisms and microbial isolates Sterility, Growth Promotion, and Particulate Matter testing using instrumentation and/or microscopy Identification of bacteria and fungi using phenotype/genotypic methods and microscopy Preparation and shipment of samples to contract testing laboratories Provide validation support by performing: Biological indicator testing Accurate recording of test results and conclusions Completion of test forms prior to submission for approval Data entry into Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS) Author and review technical documents: Develop and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and protocols Review data generated by laboratory personnel Train colleagues on equipment use and test methods Troubleshoot microbiology instruments when needed Support Environmental Monitoring Programs by conducting testing and analysis of: Clean steam, USP water, and Water for Injection (WFI) for bioburden, TOC, and endotoxins Nitrogen and process air for microbial counts and particulates Facilities for viable air, surface contamination, and non-viable particles using validated methods Maintain compliance with all company and regulatory safety, health, and environmental policies, including: Proper use of SDS and safety notifications Safe laboratory practices and timely reporting of incidents Ensuring all equipment remains in a GMP/validated/calibrated state before use Sirius Staffing is an equal-opportunity employer.
