Overview

Full Professor of Practice (Means and Methods Focus) in the Myers-Lawson School of Construction at Virginia Tech. This is a nine-month, full-time, non-tenure-track position to begin Fall 2026 in Blacksburg, VA, dedicated primarily to teaching and service missions. MLSoC brings together undergraduate engineering and non-engineering programs in Construction Engineering and Management (ABET-accredited) and Building Construction (ACCE-accredited). The successful candidate will teach 3-4 courses per semester, develop meaningful relationships with industry, and provide service to the School and the broader AEC industry. Occasional travel to attend outreach events, conferences, and/or other professional meetings is required. Teach 3-4 courses per semester in the School of Construction. Develop and maintain meaningful relationships with industry partners. Provide service to the School and the broader AEC industry. Occasional travel to attend outreach events, conferences, and/or other professional meetings. Required Qualifications

A graduate or professional degree in construction or a closely related field. Documented professional experience in construction or a closely related discipline. Demonstrated expertise in construction means and methods in addition to one or more of the following areas: design-build, fundamentals of construction management, and construction company management. Preferred Qualifications

Certifications and/or licensure related to the applicant’s professional field (e.g., PMP, CCM, PE, RA). Demonstrated record of effective teaching in higher education, e.g., through end-of-semester teaching evaluations and/or peer reviews. Engagement in academic program leadership and/or leadership of professional organizations. Overtime Status
