SUMMARY:
The Plasma Technician I supports the thermal spray (plasma, wire arc, HVOF, etc.) coating process by preparing parts, operating plasma equipment, and performing basic inspections. Responsibilities
Assist with setting up and operating plasma spray equipment to apply coatings on aerospace parts. Prepare parts for coating, including cleaning and masking as necessary. Perform basic plasma coating processes under the guidance of more experienced technicians. Conduct visual and dimensional inspections of coated parts to ensure adherence to quality standards. Maintain and clean plasma spray equipment, following safety protocols. Document process data and inspection results as required. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent. 2 years of experience in thermal/plasma spraying or a related field. Basic understanding of plasma spray operations and safety procedures. Ability to follow detailed work instructions and specifications. Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality. Basic mechanical skills and knowledge of coating application techniques. Preferred Requirements
Hands-on experience in a related OEM or MRO Manufacturing/Process Engineering discipline. 3+ years of hands-on experience in plasma spraying or thermal spray processes. Familiarity with plasma coating programs and automated coating equipment. Previous experience with masking techniques. Other
