Litigation Attorney – Los Angeles Office Seeking an experienced Litigation Attorney to manage all aspects of medical malpractice cases (excluding trial and arbitration presentations). Must possess deep knowledge in medicine, law, and medical malpractice litigation, and develop effective case strategy.

Base Pay Range $153,000 / yr – $215,000 / yr

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Work with the trial attorney and actively participate in formulating discovery and investigation strategy.

Obtain concurrence with Claims Specialist on defense preparation.

Prepare pleadings, and respond to discovery.

Attend court appearances.

Prepare lawsuits for trial/arbitration.

Prepare motions as requested.

Share knowledge and information with all attorneys.

Ensure cost‑effective work‑up and overall defense of assignments.

Respond to “hotline” inquiries from the Claims Department.

Assist trial/lead attorneys with preparation of reports to Claims at all stages of litigation to ensure timely reporting and completion of case work‑up.

Comply with the Defense Attorney Guidelines.

Represent CAP/MPT physicians at deposition in “Depo‑only” cases.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

J.D. Degree.

Minimum 3‑6 years of medical malpractice litigation experience.

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES

License to practice law in California.

Ability to work independently.

Ability to mentor, train, and build team enthusiasm among staff counsel.
