Marine Mammal Care and Training Specialist (Seasonal)
Responsibilities: Fish preparation for both dolphins and a variety of our aquarium residents. Husbandry for all animals throughout the park. Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures for guest, animal and staff safety. Cleaning of algae in all habitats utilizing tools from small brushes to large boat hull scrubber in SCUBA Leading educational guest tour Be able to identify all individual animals Maintain a constant communication with senior staff Experience Required
Qualifications: Completed or in process of completing Bachelors of Science/Arts in applied science. SCUBA certified. Able to take direction and apply them in fast-paced environments. Previous internship or paid work experience in the animal training or aquarium industry. Understanding of operant conditioning and positive reinforcement utilized with animal behavior. Strong observational and communication skills. A valid diver’s license and ability to travel to and from property for shift. Ability to work weekends and holidays. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 pounds. Strong command of the English language. How to Apply
