HVAC Mechanic Apprentice (Union)

to join our federal team supporting the Washington Navy Yard in

Washington, D.C.

Apprentice Mechanic , you will: Primarily perform HVAC mechanical equipment service support, some electrical and controls work, and all other work coming under the labor agreement assigned by the Employer Assists Journeyman Mechanics with more complex problems Supports preventative maintenance duties on different types of HVAC equipment Troubleshoots and resolves problems Responds to basic warranty calls Keeps Managers, Foreman, contractors, and the customer informed of job progress and issues as needed Required Qualifications: High School Diploma or equivalent Ability to perform general building maintenance Self starter with ability to work independently Valid driver's license Ability to supplement on-the-job training with training provided through the apprenticeship program Good verbal and written communication skills Must be willing to join local union 110 The ability to obtain and maintain required government clearances and any other worksite specific badges Preferred Qualifications: 2+ years experience working with HVAC mechanical equipment Familiarity with HVAC Controls/BAS systems (Direct Digital Controls) EPA Refrigeration certification Johnson Controls is an equal employment opportunity employer
