For over 117 years, Catholic Charities Brooklyn and Queens has been providing quality social services to the neighborhoods of Brooklyn and Queens, and currently offers 160-plus programs and services for children, youth, adults, seniors, and those struggling with mental illness.
STATEMENT OF THE JOB The Educational Specialist has the overall responsibility for the development and implementation of the academic curriculum, program compliance and quality assurance. * Develop and implement academic curriculum for students seeking to improve his/her academic/social performance. * Assess the educational needs of the students. * Research and develop new resources and materials to enhance the teaching curricula. * Review the academic learning curriculum of the program with Program Manager and Program Director. * Maintain class attendance records and student participation. * Design and recommend individualized curriculum needs for students.
QUALIFICATIONS: * Bachelors’ Degree in Education or in related field. * One year of experience working in classroom setting. * Bilingual (Spanish/English) a plus. * Experience in developing and implementing curricula preferred. * Classroom management and overall strong organizational skills preferred. * Regularly required to talk, hear, walk, stand, & sit. * Able to climb stairs if necessary. * Able to travel to multiple locations as needed.
