Overview At Keros Therapeutics, our mission is to deliver significant clinical benefit to a wide range of patients with disorders linked to dysfunctional signaling of the transforming growth factor-beta (TGF-ß) family of proteins. With a focus on developing differentiated product candidates designed to alter TGF-β signaling, we aim to target the pathways critical for the growth, repair and maintenance of blood cells and tissues including bone, skeletal muscle, adipose and heart tissue. We believe our product candidates have the potential to unlock the full therapeutic benefits of modulating the TGF-β superfamily and provide disease-modifying benefit to patients.
Job Summary We are seeking a highly motivated Biology/Biochemistry Major Co-op to join our In Vitro Pharmacology team for a 6-month Research Associate position. As a co-op student, you will have the opportunity to collaborate with our experienced scientists and researchers, gaining valuable insights into the field of cell/molecular biology, and contributing to our ongoing drug discovery projects.
Responsibilities
Maintain and culture multiple cell lines
Participate in protocol development and optimization of cellular assays
Conduct reporter assays to assess cellular signaling events
Regularly perform gene expression, protein detection analysis
Maintain accurate and detailed laboratory records
Collaborate with team members on research projects
Core Competencies (Required Skills)
Previous training in cell/molecular biology laboratory skills and familiarity with cell culture techniques
Preferred Skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
Effective communication and teamwork abilities
Enthusiasm for scientific research and a desire to learn and contribute
Education Requirements
Current undergraduate student majoring in Cell Biology, Biochemistry, or a related field
Strong academic background in biology and chemistry
