Harbor Chevrolet is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Automotive Technician with specialized experience in diesel engines, electrical diagnostics and repair, transmission systems, and electric vehicle (EV) technology. The ideal candidate will have completed General Motors (GM) training or possess equivalent factory training, and will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of Chevrolet vehicles. Key Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair diesel engine issues including fuel systems, turbochargers, and emissions systems. Perform routine maintenance and inspections on diesel-powered Chevrolet trucks and SUVs. Troubleshoot and repair complex electrical issues including wiring, sensors, modules, and infotainment systems. Utilize diagnostic tools and software to identify faults and perform updates or reprogramming. Diagnose and repair automatic and manual transmissions, including clutches, torque converters, and gear assemblies. Perform transmission fluid services, rebuilds, and replacements as needed. Service and maintain Chevrolet EVs including battery systems, charging components, and electric drivetrains. Stay current with EV technology and participate in ongoing training and certification programs. Perform multi-point inspections and recommend necessary repairs. Maintain accurate records of repairs and services performed. Communicate effectively with service advisors and customers regarding vehicle status and repair needs. Follow safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment. Qualifications
Completion of General Motors (GM) training or equivalent factory training required. ASE Certification(s) preferred or willingness to obtain. Minimum 3–5 years of hands-on experience in automotive repair, with specialization in diesel, electrical, transmission, and EV systems. Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills. Proficiency with OEM diagnostic tools and software. Valid driver’s license and clean driving record. Compensation
Wages are based on experience, certifications, and training level. Entry-level technicians start at a competitive base rate, with opportunities for higher pay based on ASE certifications, GM training completion, and specialized skills in diesel, EV, and transmission systems. Benefits
