Someone itching to build a truly dynamic and effective ministry for Kids, students and their families? The Next Generation Ministries at The Well is focused on children birth through twelfth grade. The Director of Next Generation Ministries at The Well is someone who has: a deep love for Jesus Christ and His people; a passion for seeing people connect with Jesus in a real way a passion to look beyond the programming to a deeper development of children and students an ability to thrive in a team environment; an ability to envision and energize a community within a discipleship context an ability to connect with parents of children and students to further the family discipleship context LOCAL CONTEXT The Well is a non-denominational missional church in Brighton Michigan. We seek to be theologically conservative while maintaining our relevance in the culture around us. We have 1 weekend worship gathering on Sundays at 10:00 AM. The Well exists to help people bring life to life. We believe that the church does not exist to develop programs but to make disciples. As a result, the Director of Next Generation Ministries sees programs as a means to developing disciples within a family context bringing the life of Christ into every aspect of their life CORE RESPONSIBILITIES Provide vision, innovation and energy to ministries focused on children through twelfth grade. Champion the Next Generation Ministries through visible leadership and ministry promotion. Contribute to and Expand the overall church discipleship philosophy into the Next Generation Ministry. Identify, recruit, develop, deploy and retain key ministry leaders and volunteers. Work with key ministry leaders to develop and implement a yearly events calendar while supplying appropriate event and programming administration. Develop, oversee and track a comprehensive ministry budget. Oversee Sunday morning and Midweek Next Generation Ministry offerings Manage and track security and database system Church Center Work with The Well’s small group ministry to develop an integration plan for children and students Participate in all scheduled staff meetings and staff development times. Willing to work alongside the lead pastor and church leadership to develop discipleship strategies and methodologies for The Well as a whole. COMPETENCIES Can both lead and thrive in a team-based environment. Seeks to be a Spiritual leader first and program director second Teachable, responsive, and respectful of authority. Pastoral presence within the Next Generation Ministries. Able to create and sustain a strong volunteer culture through partnering with volunteers to craft vision, set and accomplish ministry goals Able to mentor others with wisdom and grace Familiar with and able to evaluate and deploy a comprehensive curriculum plan. QUALIFICATIONS A mature, growing believer with a clear understanding of the Gospel, along with the ability to clearly communicate it. Having or nearing completion of a Ministry Leadership or equivalent degree containing some theology training. Experience in key ministry leadership. Committed to spiritual integrity. Willing to Commit to the community of The Well. Must be in agreement with The Well’s mission, beliefs, values and philosophy of ministry (please see our website). Additional Thoughts Although the primary function of the Next Generation Ministry leader is to oversee the children and student ministries of The Well, this needs to be realized through the lenses of leadership multiplication. As a result this position will play a key role in the disciple development strategy for the entire church seeing parents as the primary disciple makers of their children. COMPENSATION This is a full-time position (40 hours a week). Salary and benefits are established by qualifications and experience.
