Job Description MUSC Health – Black River Medical Center
is seeking PRN Physician Assistants or Nurse Practitioners to join their Emergency Medicine team. The hospital, opened in January 2023, offers advanced diagnostic and interventional capabilities, serving Williamsburg and lower Florence counties.

The MUSC Medical Center emphasizes a patient-and family-centered approach, encouraging family participation and unrestricted visiting hours.
Additional Details Fair Labor Standards Act Status: Hourly/Non-exempt
Work Hours: Varies
Patient Population Focus: Emergency Department Management
Patient Age Range: 13 years to death
Minimum Qualifications Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant or Nurse Practitioner program, with current or eligible licensure as a PA or APRN.
APRN License Types: AGPNP/ANP (adults, chronic disease management), FNP (all ages, primary care)
Minimum of 2 years ER experience as an APP or ER fellowship graduation.
Preferred Qualifications
Specializations in Adult Gerontology Acute Care NP or Family Nurse Practitioner with ER certification.
Four years of ER experience as an Acute Care Nurse Practitioner preferred.
Licenses and Certifications
Current BLS, ACLS (adults), and DHEC/DEA licenses as applicable.
Job Duties
Perform comprehensive history and physical exams.
Evaluate and treat based on diagnostics and scope of practice.
Perform procedures such as laceration repair, foreign body removal, abscess drainage, catheterizations, line placements, intubation, and more, with proof of competency where required.
Initiate referrals and document care.
Utilize evidence-based practices and participate in quality improvement.
Support accreditation and compliance activities.
Engage in professional development and possibly precept students.
Physical Requirements Must be able to perform job functions including standing, walking, lifting up to 50 lbs, and other physical activities as described.
