What You'll Do The Coding Specialist - Ambulatory Services works in professional clinic, outpatient and inpatient hospital settings, nursing homes, or home settings. You will apply chart auditing knowledge, including CPT, HCPCS or ICD-10-CM coding guidelines, to ensure complete and compliant code assignment. You will review all available documentation for each patient encounter and assign appropriate codes that represent medical necessity. You will use standard query and clarification processes to ensure consistency between documentation, charges and codes. You will adhere to AHIMA Standards of Ethical Coding and AAPC Code of Ethics and official coding rules. Occasional travel to Gundersen Health System facilities is required.
Full Time - 80 hours biweekly (1.0 FTE)
Day Shift. No weekend rotation
This position will be working remotely
Starting pay of $21.15/hr and up, based on years of experience
We would like to hire an experienced Infusion Coder for this position
We can only accept candidates from WI, IA, and MN
What You'll Need
Prior experience as an Infusion Coder
REQUIRED: 1 year of experience in a healthcare facility, health care business office or equivalent education
REQUIRED: Certifications — CPC, CPC-A, CCA, COC, CCS, CCS-P or RHIA/RHIT
