We’re seeking a

Staff Systems Engineer – Software

to take technical ownership of integrated software systems across robotics platforms. You’ll be embedded in cross-functional engineering teams, collaborating on everything from architecture to deployment, debugging, diagnostics, and design for resilience. This is a senior, hands-on role with broad impact on future robots. What You’ll Do

Lead the design, development, and maintenance of scalable, reliable software platforms that support robotics deployment Drive cross-disciplinary efforts: define software requirements, system architectures, scheduling, and test plans Own root cause analysis across hardware, software, and control boundaries Create APIs, frameworks, and services for prototypes, research, and production use cases Implement fault detection, diagnostic, and recovery schemes to maximize uptime and robustness Support validation and testing by delivering modular control software for subsystem experiments What You Bring

Deep experience in modern C++ (OOP, multithreading) and Linux-based development Background in containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Familiarity with robotics frameworks (e.g. ROS, URDF) and control-stack integration Experience with communication networking (EtherCAT, CAN) Strong understanding of distributed systems, microservices, and API design 8+ years of software engineering work, especially in latency-sensitive, real-time systems Bachelor’s degree in CS, Engineering, or related field (Master’s preferred) Nice to Have
