Overview
THIS IS A NATIONAL GUARD TITLE 32 EXCEPTED SERVICE POSITION. This National Guard position is for a MILITARY FUNERAL HONOR PROGRAM COORDINATOR (TITLE 32), Position Description Number D2023000 and is part of the NC G1, National Guard (G1-SSS / Manning Document 1325-926). POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO WORK WEEKENDS, TRAVEL AND ON CALL DUTIES. Duties
As a MILITARY FUNERAL HONOR PROGRAM COORDINATOR, GS-0301-9, you will perform program development and the coordination of functions for the Military Funeral Honors Program (MFHP), which provides military funeral honor ceremonies for service members and veterans. Duties include: Develop, manage, and coordinate MFHP training for the state; maintain documentation and record certifications in the required systems. Serve as the primary point of contact, coordinator, and advisor for Military Funeral Honors and/or Casualty Assistance; receive requests for Honor Guard support, verify eligibility, and assign appropriate Funeral Honors Staff. Interact with the community by providing briefings on MFHP capabilities, eligibility requirements, and procedures to receive Honors; provide training for Military Funeral Honors. Consolidate MFHP expense information for annual operating budget estimates. Direct the daily activities of a small staff; supervise and plan work to achieve program goals; represent MFHP at conferences and meetings. Perform other duties as assigned. NATIONAL GUARD MEMBERSHIP IS REQUIRED. If you are not sure you are eligible for military membership, contact a National Guard recruiter prior to applying. This is an excepted service position requiring membership in a compatible military assignment in the employing state’s National Guard prior to placement. Selectee will be required to wear the military uniform. Acceptance of an excepted service position constitutes concurrence with these requirements. Applicants not currently a National Guard member must be eligible for immediate membership and employment in the National Guard in the listed military grade. Males born after 31 December 1959 must be registered for Selective Service. Federal employment suitability as determined by a background investigation. Participation in direct deposit is mandatory. Possible 1- or 2-year probation/trial period with employment ends unless certified in writing that it advances the agency’s interest. Qualifications
Military Grades : Enlisted (E5 to E8), Warrant (WO1 to CW4), or Officer (2LT) Minimum Requirements:
Experience, education, or training providing general knowledge of organization, management, and administration; experience using computer and automation systems. Specialized Experience:
At least 24 months in a position requiring compiling reports and facilitating person-to-person information exchange; experience providing technical guidance; thorough knowledge of administrative procedures and management; experience developing administrative procedures. Education
