Base pay range $90,000.00/yr - $230,000.00/yr

Description Are you a systems thinker with model-based systems engineering (MBSE) experience that wants to have impact on nationally important defense programs?

Do you enjoy developing and deploying cutting edge capabilities for digital engineering (DE)?

Do you love working with a group of dedicated technical specialists?

If so, we're looking for someone like you to join our team at APL.

We are seeking a systems engineer proficient in MBSE for the Weapon Systems Engineering Group in the Force Projection Sector. We provide vital systems engineering and system development expertise to strategically important capabilities for the Navy and Air Force. As part of our team, you will develop system models, profiles, architecture frameworks, and systems engineering processes for critical weapons systems development programs. You will also contribute to innovative DE capabilities that enhance engineering efforts for APL and our sponsors.

As a Model Based Systems Engineer, your responsibilities include:

Providing systems engineering and MBSE expertise for complex strategic deterrent systems.

Developing and implementing system models to support development, modernization, and sustainment of systems.

Creating digital engineering capabilities and processes to support the organization.

Applying systems engineering on requirements analysis, architecture, risk assessments, and testing.

Delivering presentations to sponsors and communicating concepts and analysis results.

Developing model profiles, tool plug-ins, architecture frameworks, and model queries in MBSE tools.

Defining model-based design review requirements and updating systems engineering processes.

Qualifications You meet our minimum qualifications if you...

Have a Bachelor's degree in engineering, mathematics, physics, or a related field.

Have experience in systems engineering for complex systems.

Have experience with UML/SysML and modeling software.

Have applied MBSE in system development.

Have broad systems engineering experience including concept development, requirements, design, testing, and risk assessment.

Possess strong communication and critical thinking skills.

Can effectively interact and lead teams, including with sponsors.

Are willing to travel periodically.

Can obtain a Secret security clearance and ultimately Top Secret clearance; U.S. citizenship is required.

You 'll go above and beyond if you...

Have an advanced degree in systems engineering.

Have experience with strategic deterrence missile systems.

Hold relevant certifications.

Have worked with DoD architecture frameworks or modeling frameworks like OMG or UAF.

Can write custom scripts or plug-ins for modeling software.

Have Agile development experience.

Experience integrating models across multiple software applications.

Knowledge of digital engineering tools and processes.

Experience with DoD acquisition, Navy Strategic Systems, or Air Force ICBM programs.

Knowledge of Navy Trident II or Air Force ICBM systems.

Hold an active Top Secret clearance.
