Clearance: SECRET
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Perform analysis techniques to determine the existence of latent prints Identify, mark, photograph, determine suitability, submit, and perform comparisons Process evidence to determine the presence of latent fingerprints using documented wet and dry laboratory processes at their location. Processing methods include Cyanoacrylate fuming, stickyside paste, and dyes. Examine evidence for latent prints using all available means, including specialized lighting sources, conditions, and magnification. Mark all latent prints in a non-destructive manner. Photograph each latent print with equipment capable of producing 1000 dpi or greater, and serialize each photograph with evidence item and case details. Assess photographic images to determine if the print quality allows for comparison or submission to ABIS, based on documented criteria. Compare latent prints to known prints, making determinations based on professional judgment. Ensure independent verification by another examiner. Document processing techniques and examination results in case files. Perform administrative and technical reviews of reports and worksheets. Maintain proper chain of custody at all times. Keep a clean laboratory and workspace environment per local procedures. Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree with 2-4 years’ experience in latent print processing, examination, and evaluation, or an Associate’s degree with 5-7 years, or a High School diploma with 8-10 years related experience. Professional certification by IAI is preferred. Proficiency with AFIS, ABIS, and other national databases. Ability to pass all medical requirements for deployment. Successful completion of skills assessment. Ability to obtain and maintain a DoD Secret security clearance. Additional Requirements:
Physical ability and commitment to deploy globally as part of a team. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel. Strong communication skills via email, phone, and video conferencing. Certifications and Other Qualifications:
