We support clients through challenging life moments and seek a paralegal who can contribute to high-level drafting, client service, and efficient case management. Must reside in Washington State and be able to attend in-person court proceedings. We offer flexible work arrangements including remote, hybrid, and in-office at our Kirkland, WA location, with in-office time during onboarding. Job Summary : Experienced, dedicated and detail-oriented Family Law Paralegal to join our legal team. This role requires strong organizational skills, excellent communication, elevated client service and the ability to work efficiently. Paralegals do the bulk of drafting pleadings, discovery, and case correspondence and serve as the main point of contact for clients, managing client expectations. Responsibilities
Interface with clients, witnesses, experts, opposing counsel and their staff. Serve as the client’s main contact, attend client meetings, and track and record client billings and expenses. Compose, prepare, and answer correspondence with clients and case-related experts. Calendaring, reminders, and scheduling management for approximately 35–45 cases. Interact with courts regarding hearings, motions, etc. Draft a variety of legal documents: petitions, summons, subpoenas, motion pleadings, declarations, court orders, parenting plans, discovery and other documents as needed. Assist with trial preparation, including assembly of exhibits, witness binders, and court filings. Prepare and review discovery, including answers to interrogatories and requests for production. Assist lawyers in the preparation of depositions, hearings, trials, and conferences. Organize and analyze large volumes of financial documents, including preparing asset/debt spreadsheets. Qualifications
2+ years of family law experience under an attorney in a law firm setting. Comfortable with billable hour requirements and delegating tasks to legal assistants. Comfortable with practice management systems (Clio), billing systems, etc. Excellent organizational, time-management and customer service skills. Paralegal professional certification or advanced paralegal education. Talented communicator and writer. Understands nuances related to family law with a basic understanding of court procedures in King, Pierce and Snohomish Counties.
