Application Technicians act as an important link between Hexagon MTM and sales channels / business partners / customers. The application technician represents the expert for measuring in the machine tool with Hexagon MTM products. They support sales, product management, development and service to offer solution-oriented / simple applications. The role includes OEM and key account support for easy integration of our products to achieve a high level of customer loyalty. The Application Technician is involved in the training of OEMs and Hexagon technicians worldwide to guarantee MTM expertise across markets. They also actively cooperate on new developments and contribute to final acceptance of new solutions to meet market requirements. They work pro-actively to support and influence the partnership relationship with customers and sales channels. Through their work, they positively contribute to customer relationships and sales channel partnerships. Responsibilities
Install, maintain, and troubleshoot CNC machines and controls (e.g., Heidenhain, Siemens, Fanuc). Program and optimize PLCs and macrocycles to meet customer specifications. Provide proactive and competent support to customers, addressing technical issues and requirements. Collaborate effectively with team members to deliver task-oriented solutions. Conduct regular self-training to stay current with Hexagon MTM products and CNC technology updates. Ensure conscientious and careful execution of all assigned tasks. Promote responsible use of company and environmental resources. Maintain a positive and expert image when interacting with business partners and customers. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience) Experience with machine tools and common CNC controls (e.g., Heidenhain, Siemens, Fanuc or similar) as well as PLC and macrocycle programming Confident and professional appearance towards customers, business partners and colleagues Willingness to work in a team to act in a task-oriented manner Enjoyment of national and international travel (up to 60%) Knowledge of English desirable; other languages an advantage Confident, friendly and competent appearance towards business partners and represent the expert image Physical Demands
Frequently required to stand, walk, sit for long periods with bending and kneeling Manual dexterity for keyboard use, operating office equipment, grasping objects Regularly move around customers’ worksites Regularly lift and/or move up to 75 pounds Specific vision abilities including close vision, depth perception and focus adjustment Frequent communication with other employees and customers Work Environment
