Primary Purpose Accountable for overseeing and improving overall plant quality through the implementation of process quality systems, while ensuring all quality-related issues are addressed to achieve maximum efficiency.
Responsibilities / Accountabilities
Maintain plant quality systems including inspection and test methods, work instructions, procedures, product specs, GMPs, Food Safety Compliance, and best practices.
Develop and drive continuous improvement initiatives in plant quality.
Ensure quality system adherence and maintain product integrity.
Develop and drive supplier continuous improvement initiatives.
Dispostion of finished product by analyzing production and quality data and judging product acceptability against specifications.
Maintain external customer relationships, resolve quality issues, and provide technical and quality support.
Lead root cause and corrective action investigations for customer complaints and internal nonconformances.
Audit implementation of corrective actions for customer complaints and internal nonconformances.
Coordinate with Commercial, Product Development and Corporate Engineering regarding new business and product trials.
Resolve coating and mill supplier defective material claims accurately and timely.
Ensure adherence to SMA principles and procedures.
Manage the HFI system including balance, disposition, re-work and inventory levels.
Ensure plant quality procedures are properly completed and quality objectives (KPIs) are communicated to floor personnel.
Educate and instruct plant leads and supervisors in process quality improvement methods and GMPs.
Prepare quality reviews and submit them to management.
Assist in developing special plant projects and collaborate with Corporate Quality Assurance.
Maintain continuous communication with all Ardagh Metal Packaging plants.
Work closely with Human Resources to address personnel issues.
Direct supervision of plant personnel; may vary by location.
Other responsibilities as assigned.
Skills & Competencies
Strong analytical, computer, and communication skills.
Driven and energetic with the ability to solve complex problems outside of normal processes.
Ability to work with all levels of personnel.
Education & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in a technical or relevant discipline.
Minimum 8 years of manufacturing experience.
4 years of quality experience.
Excellent management/leadership aptitude.
Preferred Qualifications
Knowledge of Six Sigma Black Belt or Green Belt Certification.
Experience with can manufacturing improvement methods implementation.
Site Specific Qualifications
Experience managing self-directed work forces.
