Overview
Modern Technology Solutions, Inc. (MTSI) is seeking a highly experienced Configuration/Data Management Technical Lead to provide Systems Engineering, Integration, & Test (SEIT) support to the United States Space Force (USSF) Operational Command and Control (C2) Acquisition Delta responsible for developing software and the supporting architecture for the organize, understand, plan, decide, direct, and monitor capabilities within the C2 Joint Capability Areas (JCAs). A successful candidate should be a self-starter with initiative, excellent communication skills, the ability to lead and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, and a proven ability to solve problems. This position is located in Colorado Springs, CO. Responsibilities
Overseeing management of configuration items, including documentation, change control boards, and lifecycle management. Preparing and ensuring complete Configuration Management (CM) documentation is maintained. Scheduling and coordinating Change Control Boards, documents, and implementing outcomes/changes/Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) in a high-speed Agile/DevSecOps environment. Automating CM to the maximum extent possible using approved tools; collaborating with Quality to ensure effectiveness and adherence of CM policies and automated processes. Developing and implementing the CM plan, ensuring compliance with Space Systems Command (SSC) policy and NIST 800-53 CM controls. Managing the release of artifacts and artifact packages. Coordinating CM with Program Management, Risk, Quality, and Task Lead personnel and related policies. Gathering, tracking, and reporting key performance indicators and metrics to the leadership team. Providing guidance to Program Leadership in the execution of all phases of CMDM principles (Planning, Identification, Change Control, Status Accounting, Verification/Audits, Data Management, etc.). Reviewing, updating, and maintaining process documentation, auditing, and evaluating compliance with established processes, and sharing best practices among program practitioners. Qualifications
Minimum 20 years of relevant DoD/IC or related industry work experience. Experience working with DoD or IC acquisition organizations. Experience on a Systems Engineering, Integration and Test (SEIT) or Systems Engineering and Technical Assistance (SETA) contract. Relevant DoD and/or Industry work experience in SSC or equivalent. Minimum 20 years of related CMDM experience. Experience executing the five functions of Configuration Management: Planning and Management, Identification, Change Management, Status Accounting, and Verification/Audit. Experience in the following application frameworks: Microsoft Office products (SharePoint, Word, Excel), Adobe Acrobat, Confluence and Jira. Creating and updating configuration documentation and workflows; automating them to the maximum extent possible. Demonstrated leadership and team-building skills; self-starter in fast-paced environments. Strong interpersonal and communication skills; able to interact with diverse personnel and dynamic teams. Excellent analytical and organizational skills with attention to detail and effective time and project management. Experience presenting and communicating technical data to government and leadership audiences (preferred). Willingness to mentor colleagues. Desired Skills
Experience working CM within DoD Programs (e.g., GPS, MILSATCOM). Education Requirements
B.S. in a related field. M.S. degree in a related field (desired). Clearance & Travel
Active Secret security clearance required. U.S. Citizenship is required for this position. Location: Garden of the Gods, Colorado Springs, CO — Hybrid (on-site/telework). May require travel up to 10% of the time within the continental United States. Compensation & Benefits
The pay range for this position in Colorado is $130,000/year to $190,000/year; base pay offered may vary depending on contract ranges, job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other factors.
