Role Overview The CEO will be responsible for leading and overseeing the overall strategic direction, financial performance, and operational excellence of the company. The role involves ensuring the successful execution of the company’s vision and mission in the mobile money industry, driving financial inclusion, customer satisfaction, regulatory compliance, and sustainable growth. Botswana Relocation to Botswana is required. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Economics, Information Technology, or a related field; MBA or relevant postgraduate degree preferred. Minimum of 5-8 years of executive leadership experience in fintech, banking, telecommunications, or mobile financial services. Proven track record of leading high-growth businesses, scaling mobile money operations, and promoting digital financial inclusion. Strong understanding of financial regulations, AML/KYC requirements, and risk management principles. Experience in strategic partnerships, investor relations, and stakeholder management. Excellent leadership, communication, and negotiation skills. Strong analytical skills for interpreting financial reports, market trends, and business metrics. Experience working with regulators, policymakers, and industry associations in financial services and fintech sectors. Strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Leadership and team-building skills. Financial acumen and sound business judgment. Negotiation and stakeholder management expertise. Ability to drive innovation and adapt to emerging financial technologies. Effective decision-making in complex and uncertain environments. Responsibilities Strategic Leadership & Business Growth : Develop and implement the company’s vision, mission, and strategic plan to ensure growth and sustainability. Identify new markets, partnerships, and revenue opportunities to expand the company's reach and promote financial inclusion. Lead innovation in mobile money solutions aligned with emerging technologies and customer needs. Drive expansion strategies through partnerships with banks, telecoms, merchants, and other financial institutions. Build and maintain relationships with investors, regulators, financial institutions, and technology partners. Financial Performance & Risk Management : Oversee financial management to ensure profitability, revenue growth, and operational efficiency. Develop financial plans, budgets, and forecasts aligned with business goals. Implement risk management policies and ensure compliance with financial regulations including AML/KYC. Operational Excellence & Technology Innovation : Oversee development and deployment of innovative mobile money services to improve accessibility and usability. Drive operational efficiency and digital transformation initiatives. Lead product development for new payment solutions, remittances, and merchant services. Ensure cybersecurity and data protection measures are in place. Leadership & Team Management : Build and lead a high-performing executive team fostering collaboration and accountability. Mentor senior management and staff to enhance productivity. Promote diversity, equity, and inclusion within the organization. Align team objectives with overall company goals. Regulatory & Compliance Oversight : Ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks for mobile money and financial services. Engage with regulators and government agencies to advocate favorable policies. Maintain transparency and uphold corporate governance standards.
