Position identifies and communicates cardiac rhythm irregularities to other team members. This position provides for coverage and observation of cardiac monitors. Communicates changes in cardiac rhythm and recognition of life threatening dysrhythmia.
Responsibilities
Identify and communicate cardiac rhythm irregularities to team members.
Provide coverage and observation of cardiac monitors.
Communicate changes in cardiac rhythm and recognize life-threatening dysrhythmias.
Qualifications
Completion of a Cardiac Monitor Technician program designed for unlicensed health care providers.
Minimum Education: High School Diploma or equivalent (preferred).
Knowledge of basic medical terminology, basic computer skills, telephone skills, and English.
Current American Heart Association BLS Certification.
Demonstrates the skills, knowledge, and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload.
Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System.
Preferred Qualifications
Recent acute care experience as a ward/unit secretary / monitor tech (preferred).
Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures, and forms.
