Develop strategy and helps guide analyses to inform pricing and promotion activities for Diagnostic (Dx) point of Care (POC) and Reference Lab business
(core activities including list pricing, discounts, promotions, and contracting)
Partner with Business Partners to brainstorm and align on pricing and promotion strategy with Net Revenue Management principles. Develop price/volume ladders for DX POC & reference lab business.
Frame and support ad-hoc analyses and provide business unit leaders with data-driven recommendations to inform decisions.
Build strategic contracting and maintain competitive bid tools for use by Sales Force.
Partner with field teams and commercial colleagues to build the business case for specific DX portfolio opportunities.
Partner with key account managers, business unit directors and field teams to assess viability of potential opportunities, propose sales programs delivering the full potential of the opportunity.
Track and develop reports to capture learnings/ best practices on reference lab/ portfolio deal opportunities.
Work across Zoetis and landscape beyond Zoetis to identify best practices that could be implemented in the US for newly identified commercial opportunities.
Lead Annual List process and analytics.
Stay current with competitive offerings across geographies, understanding the value proposition of unique product offerings, how other manufacturers serve those markets, and if there exist opportunities for Zoetis’s portfolio of solutions.
TECHNICAL SKILLS REQUIREMENTS Required
Significant financial acumen, including but not limited to understanding revenue and margin drivers for the business, customer lifetime value, pricing strategy, Gross to Net calculations, accounting principles and tactical translation to deal wins
Experience working with large data sets, including SQL/Python (or similar programming language)
Experience with technology and tools to simplify complex proposals and move from data collection to information management to decision making/ insights, quickly.
Understanding of strategies, initiatives and offerings which maximize growth and expansion of the Diagnostics business in markets, and how to optimize the full Zoetis portfolio/ lifetime customer value. Furthermore, translate these strategies into actions and recommendations that inform decision making.
Understanding for how to develop, socialize, implement, and evolve processes for deal approvals/ stakeholder buy-in
Strong analytical skills, assessing large quantities of information quickly, in order to prioritize deal efforts in alignment with field opportunities.
Ability to identify the strengths and weaknesses of current offerings and the potential impact of the new technologies/products on commercial segments.
Provide research and insight on competitors and relevant market developments.
Experience and facility with strategic pricing and consumer behavior concepts.
Strategic problem-solving and ability to drive creative solutions in a complex environment.
Ability to build close working relationships and drive data-driven recommendations and decisions with internal teams (e.g., marketing, finance)
Strong communication and presentation skills; ability to influence without authority.
Ability to simultaneously manage and pivot between multiple projects, pilots and tests
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
Proficiency with advanced analytics tools such as Tableau & PowerBI
Preferred
Formal project management or process improvement experience
Desirable
Knowledge of animal health.
Familiarity with advanced analytics tools such as Tableau
Understanding of quantitative languages such as Python or R
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's in finance, economics, data analytics, business analytics, math, engineering, computer science or equivalent is strongly preferred, MBA or advanced degree a plus
Experience (3+ years) working in Strategic Pricing or Net Revenue Management
Professional Pricing Society (PPS) Certification a plus
