Interior Install Tech II - Special Missions in GAC Brunswick Unique Skills: Must have sheet metal skills as well as interior experience. Will work one weekend shift and one 2-shift schedule. Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum of 2 years of applicable installation, fabrication, or related experience. Experience in the aerospace industry preferred. Position Purpose: The Interior Installation Technician II works under general supervision to remove, install, and/or fabricate aircraft interiors, including items such as trim, carpet, soundproofing, light structure, cabinetry, panels, and other accessories. All work should comply with company design specifications, quality standards, and meet customer expectations. Job Description: Principle Duties and Responsibilities: Safely perform aircraft removal, installation, and/or fabrication of aircraft interiors (e.g., galleys, closets, lavatories, side ledges, bulkheads, doors, panels). Coordinate with supervision and inspection to ensure compliance with procedures, paperwork, sign-offs, and quality standards. Use the material tracking system to create parts demand, track squawks, and sign off work. Follow standard operating procedures when using tools and equipment such as hand tools, band saws, shears, sanders, and brakes. Properly care for and maintain shop equipment and tools. Prepare and install aircraft interior items according to company procedures and quality standards. Remove and reinstall nut plates, inserts, and fasteners used in aircraft interiors, applying proper hardware and fittings. Comply with safety, 5S, and housekeeping policies; use personal protective equipment as required. Address unsafe conditions proactively. Assist technicians with aircraft maintenance under supervision. Adapt to sudden schedule changes. Additional Functions: Collaborate with lead and higher skilled technicians to develop process improvements using Lean Six Sigma and other techniques. Make and use simple patterns employing standardized procedures. Support aircraft certification and final testing, including flight tests if required. Perform other duties as assigned. Other Requirements: Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English. Ability to interpret blueprints and engineering documents. Proficiency with hand and power tools related to interior installation and removal. Ability to climb ladders/stairs, work in confined spaces, lift up to 40 pounds, and work any shift. Must be computer literate. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
