Essential functions and qualifications for this role reflect responsibilities on upcoming MTA Transit projects (NYC Transit, Metro North Railroad, Long Island Rail Road, Staten Island Railway, Bus, etc.), as well as upcoming NJ Transit and Amtrak projects. Base pay range

$70,000.00/yr - $140,000.00/yr Responsibilities

Document control; submittal & deliverable tracking; maintenance of files, documentation, and project logs; Utilizing owner-provided Construction Management software; Preparation of meeting minutes, letters, and other project-related written correspondences; Review of inspector’s daily reports for accuracy; Coordination with contractor and owner staff on expediting turnaround times on submittal and deliverable transmissions and reviews respectively; Tracking of all contractor and consultant insurance submissions and expiry dates; Tracking and reporting on contractor MBE, WBE, DBE, and SDVOB utilization; Tracking and Reporting on all required consultant and contractor trainings; Drafting of change order scopes of work as needed; assisting with the review and validation of contractor payment requests and owner labor-force invoices; Assistance with preparation of monthly progress reports; Participation in project progress meetings; Assist Resident Engineer and Project Manager with ensuring successful execution, completion, and close-out of the project; All other duties as assigned. Qualifications

A minimum of 3 years of prior experience working on rail transit projects (NYC Transit, Metro North Railroad, Long Island Rail Road, Staten Island Railway, Bus, etc.) and maintaining project records is required; Must possess a HS Diploma/Equivalent, and must possess and maintain at least one of the following:

Valid NICET Level III or IV Certification; Valid PE or RA License; Valid CCM Certification; Valid PMP Certification; BS Degree in Civil Engineering or an acceptable field; An additional 5 years of Office Engineering experience in lieu of certifications/degrees listed above.

Excellent organization, interpersonal, and oral and written communication skills; Must be detail oriented and have the ability to multi-task; Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, and ability to learn project specific software as needed. Physical Requirements

While performing the essential functions of these positions, the employee is frequently required to assume a stationary position, handle, inspect, and/or feel documents, materials and/or equipment relevant to the job and communicate about same. The employee is also regularly required to move around on project sites occasionally on other structures or equipment, including ascending or descending the landscape, and positioning themselves appropriately to access necessary testing materials and equipment, frequently for prolonged periods of time. The employee will also communicate with colleagues, supervisors and clients utilizing corporate and client e-mail and telephone systems. Employees may also be required to undergo substance abuse testing in accordance with project requirements, US DOT Regulations, and/or Company policy. The employee may occasionally be required to operate a computer, as well as other related office machinery, such as calculators, printers, and copy machines. This position also may require the regular operation of a motor-vehicle, which may require remaining stationary for extended periods of time.
