Senior Sybase Database Administrator Engineer at CGI. Immediate need in Reston, VA or Plano, TX with a hybrid working model. Responsibilities

Manage Sybase ASE and Transact‑SQL environments on‑premises and AWS cloud. Automate database functions such as backups, monitoring, and configuration using Shell scripting and Python. Support production systems, troubleshoot complex issues, and resolve defects. Develop high‑complexity software, consult with stakeholders, and meet business needs. Required Qualifications

10+ years of hands‑on experience with Sybase ASE and Transact‑SQL. Strong background in Linux‑based Sybase hosting on‑premises and in AWS cloud. Proficiency in AutoSys scheduler, replication setup, high availability (HA) configurations, and RBAC. Skilled in Sybase database upgrades and migrations across various Linux versions in AWS. Solid experience in Unix Shell scripting and Python for automation. Proven ability to automate database functions such as backups, monitoring, and configuration. Hands‑on experience with production support and troubleshooting complex issues. Strong problem‑solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication, time management, and technical presentation abilities. Capable of managing multiple concurrent projects. Familiarity with SDLC and modern programming languages (e.g., Java, J2EE, SQL, C++, PowerBuilder). Experience with application development in enterprise environments. Professional certifications in database administration or cloud technologies are a plus. Educational Requirement

Reasonable estimate of the current range for this role in the U.S. is $88,200.00 - $154,300.00. Benefits
