Litigation Paralegal – Porter Law Firm (Houston, TX). Base pay range:
$60,000.00/yr - $70,000.00/yr This range is provided by Porter Law Firm. Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more. Litigation Paralegal Job Specifications/Requirements: Must be well-versed in federal and state court procedures and filing requirements, including e-filing. Assist attorneys in researching and following local court rules. Manage hard copy and electronic case documents. Draft, issue, and manage discovery, including organizing, bates stamping, and maintaining voluminous document productions. Assist attorneys with motions, hearings, depositions, and trial prep. Draft routine court filings with minimal attorney supervision, including motions for relief, bankruptcy proofs of claim, subpoenas, summonses, writs of garnishment, notices of appearance, and pro hac vice admissions. Order and review public records searches, including title work, UCC and lien searches, and corporate filings. Assist attorneys with foreclosures, including preparing notices and publications. Perform administrative duties, such as calendaring hearings, court, and discovery deadlines. Perform basic legal research on Westlaw and Lexis. Perform all other duties as assigned. Position Requirements and Desired Skills: Bachelor's degree with ABA paralegal certification or Associate's/Bachelor’s degree in Paralegal studies, preferred At least three (3) years of litigation work experience Knowledge and understanding of legal principles and practices Experienced in all areas of paralegal duties Proficient in Microsoft Office Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Excellent oral and written communication skills Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities Self-motivation and ability to work with minimal supervision Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with appropriate discretion Ability to work flexible and/or fluctuating work hours Seniority level
