Essential functions (job duties):

Under the supervision of the Principal Investigator, provide scientific and technical assistance to complete laboratory-based, clinical, or population science research. Assist in writing research protocols and manuscript preparation. Design and perform research protocols independently or as directed, through training in specialized procedures to meet research needs. Essential functions include:

Perform laboratory-based scientific techniques or clinical/population research involving human subjects. Design and conduct experiments, recruit participants, develop surveys, and interview candidates. Implement research objectives, ensuring compliance with legal, regulatory, and protocol guidelines. Assist staff with experiments and research protocols as required. Communicate with the Principal Investigator and postdoctoral scholars/fellows on research progress. Collect, log, and analyze laboratory results, clinical outcomes, and survey data, using graphs, charts, or tables to highlight key findings. Proofread and edit research data and documents for accuracy. Assist in writing methods sections and organizing data for presentations and journal submissions. Maintain laboratory work areas, including routine maintenance of equipment, ordering supplies, and keeping records organized. Perform other related duties as assigned. Unique duties:

Proficiency in wet and dry lab methodologies, including molecular cloning, protein production, crystallization, computational docking, enzyme kinetics, thermodynamic studies, and more. Also includes public speaking, mentoring, and managing lab inventory and equipment. Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor's degree in a related field; advanced knowledge in science or learning acquired through specialized education. Experience: Entry-level (less than a year of related experience), preferably with basic research techniques or human subject interaction. Skills: Ability to work independently, analyze data, communicate results, and work collaboratively. Knowledge of scientific principles and proficiency in Microsoft Office. Preferred qualifications:

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Biochemistry or related field. School/College/Division:
