The HOMEBUILDERS® program is an evidence‑based model rated as a “Well Supported” family preservation program by the Title IV‑E Prevention Services Clearinghouse. It emphasizes child safety and keeping families intact.
Responsibilities
Provide intensive family preservation services using the HOMEBUILDERS® model, including crisis intervention, counseling, skill building, concrete services, and advocacy.
Serve two to three families at imminent risk of out‑of‑home placement or who are already placed and cannot be reunited without intensive in‑home services.
Conduct clinical interventions consistent with HOMEBUILDERS® standards, utilizing clinical, concrete, and advocacy services.
Collect and report data in a timely manner.
Provide comprehensive, strengths‑based assessments and develop intervention goals and service plans.
Advocate for clients, providing transportation and resources, and teach families to meet needs independently.
Support other specialists as needed.
Comply with HOMEBUILDERS® service definitions and guidelines.
Assess home safety using clinical strategies that promote safety.
Maintain clear documentation of treatment efforts.
Be available to clients 24/7, arranging coverage when needed.
Submit weekly production reports and maintain accurate progress notes.
Use appropriate data systems for tracking client services.
Conduct weekly sessions per HOMEBUILDERS® standards.
Collaborate with supervisor on quality improvement plans.
Develop referrals and community resources.
Offer flexible appointment times and work non‑traditional hours.
Attend weekly supervisor case plan reviews and team consultations.
Stay abreast of all regulatory requirements and treatment modalities.
Complete other duties as assigned, including donor engagement events as requested.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Social Sciences, Human Services, or related field with at least two (2) years of experience working with children and families, OR a Master’s degree in Social Work, Human Services, or related field with experience working with children and families.
Experience working with diverse cultures and sensitivity to cultural differences.
Excellent clinical and crisis intervention skills.
Knowledge of state, community, and agency resources.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to engage, respect, and serve a wide range of clients in a non‑judgmental manner.
Compassionate customer service orientation.
Independent work, high confidentiality, and Microsoft Office proficiency.
Willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Live within 60 minutes of most service families.
21+ years old with a valid driver’s license and at least 3 years of U.S. driving experience.
Pass a criminal history screen, including child protection registry checks.
