Paragon Professional Services, a subsidiary of Bering Straits Native Corporation, is seeking a qualified Transportation Officer for Armed Ground Transportation Services for DHS ICE Boston. Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Perform transportation duties per PBNDS Standards and Training. Ensure all detainee transports are documented and detainee records and possessions are safeguarded at all times. Provide trip documentation to the Transportation Coordinator in a timely manner. Notify Operations Supervisor, Transportation Coordinator, and/or Project Manager of any route variations. Obtain required detainee documentation from the transferring facility/agency prior to departure. Maintain vehicle maintenance and service records in designated binders. Report safety-related transportation issues immediately, complete vehicle repair orders, and submit to Fleet Management Supervisor. Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections before departing the hub. Ensure all required equipment (first aid kits, insurance card, flares, security devices, etc.) is present in the vehicle prior to departure. Report for scheduled work times as assigned. If assigned to a stationary guard post, ensure compliance with Post Orders and hospital protocols. Carry at all times: guard card, weapons permit, ICE ID, Company ID, medical card (if applicable). Complete post-vehicle check after your assignment. Forward gas receipts to Fleet Management. Report accidents, incidents, or injuries related to transportation duties and complete necessary reports. Complete daily paperwork including Record of Presence, equipment, and key sign-in/out sheets. Maintain a valid Armed Guard/Firearms permit and pass periodic firearms recertification. Recertification includes Use of Force, Tactics, Weapon Safety, and Range Qualifications. Recertify with your duty handgun periodically, achieving a minimum score of 200 or 80% out of 250 points, demonstrating safe handling. Qualifications - Experience, Education, and Certification
High School Diploma. Current federal background investigation clearance or ability to obtain (e-Qip). At least 2 years’ experience as a Law Enforcement or Military Police Officer, or 6 months as a security officer involved with detainee functions, or 2 years active-duty military with honorable discharge. Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Clear and concise communication skills, both oral and written. Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and data entry. Effective organizational skills. Preferred Qualifications
Massachusetts Wear Carry Permit. Massachusetts Security Guard Certification. Commercial Driver’s License for your state. Physical Requirements
Must maintain physical condition for prolonged sitting, standing, walking, and bending. Reasonable accommodations available for disabilities. Work Environment
Work involves operating transportation vehicles, exposure to contagious pathogens, and possible overnight travel. Additional Requirements
Ability to obtain and maintain Federal Clearance, Massachusetts permits, and certifications. Pass pre-employment drug screening and background checks.
