Your Role on the Team Under the general supervision of the UC Irvine Transgenic Mouse Facility (TMF) Managing Director, the successful applicant will participate in the generation of genetically modified mice using CRISPR genome editing technology within the TMF.
This position is suited to an individual with a professional approach to laboratory animal care and a strong interest in advancing genetic research.
The successful candidate will be responsible for comprehensive mouse husbandry, conducting genetic crosses, tissue biopsy collection, and meticulous data recording to deploy newly developed genetically modified mouse lines to the research community, including late‑onset Alzheimer’s disease models.
The role requires someone who demonstrates professionalism and attention to detail in animal care.
Perform molecular biology procedures and analysis, such as DNA extraction from mouse tissue biopsies.
Participate in molecular characterization of genetic modifications using Sanger and Next‑Gen sequencing technologies.
Assist in the development and optimization of genotyping assays using PCR and qPCR methodologies.
The successful candidate will start to follow established protocols and procedures while contributing to the advancement of cutting‑edge genetic modification technologies.

The expected pay range for this recruitment is $26.41 – $28.13 (Hourly).
