Job Summary/Basic Function MTSU's University College's Department of University Studies invites applicants for a full-time, tenure-track faculty position at the rank of assistant or associate professor. The start date for the position is August 1, 2026. The successful candidate will teach general education lower-level college mathematics and statistics courses and must be able to work with students with varying abilities. The successful candidate will be teaching courses focused on foundational mathematics, designed for students who have not yet demonstrated college-level readiness in mathematics. In addition to teaching, the successful candidate will be expected to develop and maintain an appropriate active research agenda as well as engage in public, professional, department, college, and university service functions. Required Education A terminal degree in mathematics or a closely related field is required by the appointment date. Or a terminal degree in education or mathematics education with a master's degree in mathematics or a closely related field with at least 18 hours in mathematics from an accredited college or university is required by the appointment date. Other Desirables Applicants with at least two years of full-time teaching experience in higher education will receive special consideration.
