ECS Group of Companies . What You'll Do ECS Limited offers a unique opportunity for a talented and certified Assistant Concrete Lab Manager to join our Austin team. We provide opportunities for professional development with additional incentives as you enhance your skills and gain experience. In this role, you will primarily be responsible for quality control and supervising junior staff within the construction materials testing (CMT) laboratory to ensure departmental goals are met. Responsibilities Assist the lab manager with laboratory safety, compliance, and supervision of testing activities on construction materials. Oversee calibration and maintenance of laboratory equipment, ensuring adherence to schedules and records. Ensure compliance with Quality Management Systems (QMS) and maintain laboratory certifications. Maintain laboratory organization and cleanliness to meet accreditation standards (DOT, AMRL, CCRL, AASHTO). Oversee routine concrete testing, including sample preparation, curing, temperature logging, and breaking of samples. Interpret test data, prepare reports, and assist in data analysis. Mentor and train lab staff, coordinate work schedules, and assist project managers and department leadership. Career Development As your experience grows, ECS will support your professional development through leadership training and participation in certification programs such as ACI, ASNT, AWS, ICC, NICET, and others. Required Qualifications High school diploma or GED. Minimum of 3 years of related experience. Certification in concrete and/or soils laboratory testing, with willingness to maintain certifications. Ability to lift 60-80 pounds. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Knowledge of construction materials testing equipment, methods, and ASTM standards. Proficiency in data interpretation and evaluation of CMT results. Working knowledge of Quality Management Systems.
