Overview

Job title: Research Associate - Comprehensive Cancer Center. Department: CCC | Analytical Cytometry. Role to support and participate in the scientific investigation of the Flow Cytometry Shared Resource (FCSR) in the Comprehensive Cancer Center. Responsibilities

Assists with activities of the FCSR including data management, inventory management and instrument quality control, interacts with research and hospital clinical staff Manages appointment log, written and computer formats, and close out appointments in eRamp Schedules EHS pickups and deliveries Assists in keeping instrument maintenance records Performs molecular, cellular, and biological research techniques and procedures using prescribed laboratory methods; assists with design and implementation of experiments Performs routine research and patient sample analysis for investigators on flow cytometry instruments Responsible for analysis of flow cytometric data and application of fluorescent concepts including multiparameter analysis Works closely with investigators and research staff regarding sample preparation and data interpretation Assists with routine maintenance and quality control of FCSR equipment, assists in preparation of presentation-quality graphics for manuscripts and grant submissions Performs other duties as assigned Required Qualifications

A Bachelor's degree in a biological/health science or equivalent; 3 years of relevant experience with an Associate's Degree, or 1 year with Bachelor's Ability to translate, adapt and apply knowledge in biological/health science research Additional Information

Location: Biomedical Research Tower (0112). Position Type: Regular. Scheduled Hours: 40. Shift: First Shift. Final candidates are subject to successful completion of a background check.
