What’s the job?
The EHS Specialist will help plan and implement best-in-class safety to ensure a safe, compliant, and incident-free work environment. The EHS Specialist will be responsible for supporting the development, implementation, and maintenance of programs to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations. The EHS Specialist will work closely with the EHS Manager in identifying and mitigating workplace hazards, conducting safety audits, and providing EHS training to employees. The EHS Specialist will manage and document visitor orientations to ensure proper safety adherence is met. The EHS Specialist will assist in maintaining the site\'s compliance with all Saint-Gobain EHS Standards as well as help to provide a constant focus on improving our overall EHS Culture.
Shift:
Mainly 1st shift, must be flexible to support safety activities across all shifts in a 24/7 work pattern
Responsibilities
Culture:
Support positive safety culture in workplace
BBS review, tracking, posting and communication
Support SOAP team, attend meetings
Be engaged on floor, visible
Lead 5S Team and help set the criteria for standardization, area audits, etc.
Teams:
Work with EHS/H&S Manager and WCM H&S Teams: Machine guarding, warehouse, hack saw reduction. (Greenbelt)
Support SHESC initiatives
Training:
Support Gensuite (training, engagement for all employees in plant)
Gensuite Training Administrator
Safety Trainer for new hire orientation
Support training on off shifts
Support annual MIOSHA/OSHA/Saint-Gobain/CertainTeed Training
Assist in maintaining training records
Ensure compliance with required training.
Meetings:
Support safety meetings on off shifts
Attend SOAP/BBS meetings & support BBS engagement in plant at employee level
Attend and be back up, report out H&S items at Town hall meetings
Attend and Backup facilitate H&S review meeting
Attend morning production meeting
Participate on SHESC monthly call/team
Auditing:
Audit plant floor (H&S) focused audits, like machine guarding etc...
Month AED/FA/CPR supply inspections
Support ISA audits and pre-audit to ensure facility is compliant and prepared
Communication:
Maintain plant safety communication boards (TV) Sitehawk/Sphera administrator
Incident investigation/root cause:
Facilitate/participate in investigation and root cause analysis
JSA/Risk Assessment:
Job Safety Analysis program, support to ensure JSA’s are up to date and available
Risk assessment program, support to ensure RA are up to date and available

What do you bring?
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in occupational safety, business, industrial management or related disciplines. (required)
Certification: OSHA10 required/OSHA30 (preferred)
Stormwater Operator Certification: Preferred (6 months experience if no current certificate. (required)
2 plus years working with internal or external customers in a business environment
2 plus years working in an Industrial (Manufacturing environment) focusing on safety and or Industrial Hygiene
Ability to influence at all levels of the organization
Exhibits complex problem-solving skills with the ability to consider impact to all aspects of the business
Ability to multi-task with a high attention to detail and organizational skills
Excellent communication skills
Strong interpersonal and relationship management skills
