Responsibilities (essential functions)

Band all bales of corrugated product that go through the strapping unit; strap units per factory ticket specs and maintain the appearance of all bales Prepare top and bottom cover sheets per company specifications Check load tags, number of load tags, and position tags to specifications on factory tickets Band all new items to meet customer specifications; obtain approval from the Production Supervisor for strapping appearance Coordinate with the Quality department to sign off on strapping appearance for new items and items for customers on alert Change out strapping on machine as needed Train other employees to run the Bander Monitor performance relative to established goals and keep the crew focused on meeting them Ensure accurate reporting in the computer system on all jobs Perform preventative maintenance of machinery and communicate issues to supervisor or maintenance Follow first piece inspection process to ensure production meets customer specifications Monitor and inspect quality during strapping; troubleshoot quality and production issues Report safety, quality, and equipment issues to supervisor Maintain good housekeeping in the banding area and surrounding production floor areas Maintain positive and productive communications with all relationships Adhere to all company policies and procedures; trained on Box-Board Products, Inc. Employee Practices for AIB/GMP compliance Additional duties as assigned by supervisor

Materials, Tools & Machines Used

Corrugated board, strapping Tape measure, utility knife, hand tools, air hose, computer, calculator, gloves and PPE

Qualifications

Must be at least 18 years of age Must be able to understand and read measurements using a tape measure; use and understand all other measuring tools At least 2 years of experience in the corrugated or packaging industry preferred Must be able to read and understand English instructions on company production orders Must be able to communicate with all crew members and supervisors

Stand, walk, and talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; occasionally sit Regularly lift and/or move up to 100 pounds Specific vision abilities: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
