The School of Performing Arts (SPA) at the University of Central Florida (UCF) is seeking a 9-month, non-tenure earning lecturer with a specialty in Theater for Young Audiences to teach in the Theater Department. The position is located at the UCF main campus and is anticipated to start in August 2026. Responsibilities
Teach 8 graduate and undergraduate classes per academic year, potentially including online classes. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications
Terminal degree in theater from an accredited institution at the time of hire. At least one year of teaching experience in a university setting; graduate assistantships are also acceptable. Experience in Theater for Young Audiences field. Preferred Qualifications
MFA in Theater with a specialization in Theater for Young Audiences from an accredited institution. Two years of college teaching experience or professional theater experience with teaching components. Experience with applied theater, including. Experience creating theater with vulnerable populations. Experience with devised theater. Experience with improvisation. Experience with touring productions. Experience with play writing (including musicals). Application Materials
