Position Overview As a Freight Account Executive, you will play a key role in growing our customer base and deepening relationships with current clients. You’ll act as a sales hunter, customer relationship manager, and logistics problem-solver all in one. Your success will be driven by your ability to source freight, build trust, and manage freight execution from start to finish. Key Responsibilities
Sales & Business Development Prospect and onboard new customers via calls, emails, networking, and referrals. Manage a sales pipeline and hit weekly/monthly sales goals. Understand client needs and tailor transportation solutions accordingly.
Account Management Build long-term relationships with customers through responsive service and consistent communication. Maintain knowledge of customers’ lanes, volumes, seasonality, and service preferences.
Operational Coordination Work closely with dispatch, carrier sales, and customer service to ensure loads are covered and delivered on time. Monitor shipments proactively and resolve issues as they arise. Provide rate quotes, negotiate pricing, and secure capacity.
Documentation & Compliance Ensure accurate data entry of all load and customer information into TMS. Maintain required documentation in accordance with DOT and company policies.
Qualifications
5+ years of experience in freight brokerage, trucking, logistics sales, or 3PL. Strong book of business is a plus (but not required). Self-starter with a competitive spirit and results-oriented mindset. Excellent communication, negotiation, and follow-up skills. Experience working with TMS platforms and CRM systems. Ability to work independently and handle multiple priorities.
