Job Description As a Security Officer – Commercial Real Estate Patrol in Washington, DC, you will serve and safeguard clients across a range of industries. This part‑time position uses the Claim a Shift platform to view and claim open shifts based on your availability, giving you the freedom to build a schedule that works for you while gaining site experience across various industries. As an unarmed patrol officer you will monitor and patrol a commercial real estate location, deter security‑related incidents, and provide a visible presence throughout the property. You will interact with tenants, visitors, and staff, offering exceptional customer service and clear communication.

Position Details Position Type: Part Time

Pay Rate: $24.00 / Hour

Job Schedule: Fri 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM Sat 10:00 PM - 06:00 AM

What You’ll Do

Use the proprietary scheduling platform to claim open shifts at client sites.

Support operations across environments including commercial real estate, healthcare, and education.

Receive site‑specific training and guidance from experienced teams.

Deliver consistent, professional security presence and customer service.

Be ready to fill in at short notice when urgent needs arise.

Responsibilities

Provide customer service to clients by carrying out security‑related procedures, site‑specific policies, and, when appropriate, emergency response activities.

Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem‑solving manner.

Conduct regular and random patrols around the commercial real estate location and its perimeter, observing for any unusual activity.

Assist visitors, tenants, and staff with inquiries and directions while maintaining a professional presence.

Document and report any security‑related incidents, maintenance issues, or hazards encountered during patrols.

Work collaboratively with Allied Universal team members and client representatives to help maintain a secure environment.

Remain alert to surroundings and help deter unauthorized activities within the location.

Reliability and ability to adapt to different post assignments.

A desire to gain broad experience and grow within the company.

Interest in transitioning into full‑time roles when available.

Minimum Requirements

Must be at least 21 years of age.

Customer service experience is preferred.

Experience with access control and/or badge systems is preferred.

A Security Professional Guard Card is preferred.

Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.

Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.

Applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.

Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.

Applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.

Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.

A valid driver’s license will be required for driving positions only.
