Job Overview The Community Health Organizer I is an integral part of AltaMed’s Community Organizing and Research Engagement (CORE) team, responsible for partnering with community members and patients to advance community-centered solutions to advance health equity. The Community Health Organizer I will implement community-centered outreach, education, leadership development, and capacity-building activities within the communities in AltaMed’s service areas and support engagement of partners and other stakeholders. This role will engage community members and patients in co-planning strategies for program implementation and health equity campaigns, co-design culturally concordant informational materials with community members, and co-lead advocacy around community health priorities. The Community Health Organizer I will also contribute to community-engaged research around best practices for community engagement in health equity policy, systems, and environmental change and advocacy.
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma required.
Bachelor’s degree preferred.
Minimum of 2 years of experience working directly with community members or patients required.
Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred due to the population served.
Compensation $26.08 - $32.60 hourly
