Math Teacher
at Fortune School will inspire students to see math as a tool for success in college and beyond. You will provide a rigorous, engaging instructional program in a small-school environment where every student is known, valued, and expected to achieve at high levels. What You’ll Do
Develop and implement lessons aligned with California State Standards Use assessment data to refine instruction and support diverse learners Foster a positive classroom culture that motivates and engages every student Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with colleagues to share best practices and strengthen instruction Participate in professional development and collaborate with lead teachers, principals, and instructional coaches Take on leadership opportunities that contribute to school growth Family & Community Engagement
Communicate regularly with families about student progress Build partnerships with parents/guardians to support student learning Student Support
Identify and support at‑risk students through interventions Collaborate with staff and community partners to ensure student needs are met What We’re Looking For
Experience in assessment, emphasizing student achievement as the primary outcome Systematic in assessing and monitoring student progress using objective information Ability to identify and respond to at‑risk students in collaboration with leadership Ability to refer students to appropriate community agencies when needed Ability to communicate progress clearly to parents/guardians Knowledge of grading, reporting, and promotion policies and practices Understanding of child cognitive development and diverse learning styles Strong knowledge of California State Standards and subject-specific frameworks and assessments Ability to implement Fortune School Instructional Guidelines and Best Practices Ability to analyze qualitative and quantitative student data Willingness to reflect and improve instructional practices Ability to collaborate with colleagues, families, community, and stakeholders Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree Valid California Teaching Credential - Single Subject Math Appropriate certification for teaching English Language Learners 1+ year of experience with students as a teacher, teacher intern, or teaching assistant preferred Working Conditions
Office environment with potential interruptions Travel to school sites and other locations as needed Physical Abilities
