Join United Christian Academy as an Athletic Coach for our Junior High Track & Field team. The UCA Athletic Coach should have a worldview and vision for athletics in line with the school’s mission and vision statement. We are seeking a coach who is excited to grow and build the program, is excellent at planning and organizing a season with purpose, and has a strong understanding of the sport and the ability to teach and strategize with professionalism and maturity. General Description:

The Athletic Coach is responsible for organizing and executing their sport program at United Christian Academy. He/she is responsible for coaching student athletes in competitive playing techniques to prepare them for events and competitions. He/she is to motivate student athletes to develop an appreciation of the sport. UCA recognizes our mission as an integral part of the 5-fold ministry given to the church in Ephesians 4:11-13. As such, UCA coaches serve as ministers to help advance the mission and vision of United Christian Academy. Reports to:

The head coach will report to the Athletic Director. JV and Assistant coaches will collaborate with the head coach to build a school-wide program philosophy for the sport. Minimum Qualifications & Training Must be a born-again Christian. Must be a credible Christian role model whose godly lifestyle and character demonstrate obedience to God and the Holy Bible. Must be able to support and comply with the school’s Statement of Faith and Christian Conduct. Must be a member of an evangelical, Bible-believing church. Must have sufficient health and physical endurance to be able to complete the assigned responsibilities. Must possess the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with school administrators, parents, and students. Must have good verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Able to work well independently, manage time well, and handle multiple tasks. Ability to follow verbal and written directions. Ability to receive and implement constructive feedback. Ability to work efficiently and quickly under pressure. Has a positive attitude toward work ethic, learning and development. Self-motivated, creative, innovative, and strategic thinking ability. Ability to work well with children of various ages. Understands the importance of academic disciplines and issues. Consistent, reliable attendance at practices, games, and other events. Flexible and adaptive to change. High School Diploma Basic knowledge of rules and fundamentals for sport Previous coaching experience at middle school or higher level preferred Must possess effective coaching techniques and skills. Successful completion of NFHS “Fundamental of Coaching” and “First Aid, Health, & Safety for Coaches” courses First Aid/CPR Certificate. TB clearance within the last four years. Criminal Justice Fingerprint clearance. Mandated Reporter Training Course Sexual Harassment Training Course Other trainings as assigned Part 1: Personal and Spiritual Responsibilities Displays a personal decorum that models professionalism, modesty, and good taste Models Christian virtues in attitude, speech, and action Exhibits the fruit of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22,23) Models and cultivates habits of prayer, faith, and encouragement Commits and contributes to a local church Maintains good attendance and physical endurance to fulfill job duties Uses professional etiquette appropriate for Christian school Shows positive, cheerful attitude with parents, students and staff Shows integrity in dealing with confidential information Models Sports-like behavior and maintains appropriate conduct towards other players, officials, and spectators. Models non-discriminatory practices in all activities. Part 2: Duties / Responsibilities Reinforces a Christ-centered, competitive culture of athletics to coaches, faculty/staff, student-athletes, parents, and those outside of our school Prepares and executes practice sessions for the team Assess student-athlete’s skills and assigns team positions; chooses team members. Provides appropriate, constructive feedback to student-athletes Evaluates and maintains cleanliness and safety of practice and game facilities Effectively communicates schedules and schedule changes to student-athletes, families, coaches, and administrators Will work with, and directly under the supervision of the Varsity Head Coach to maintain program growth, consistency, and community Partner with coaches of other sports to ensure the growth of all sport programs within the department Maintain inventory of equipment and uniforms Physical Demands

Standing/walking (70%), lifting (20%), climbing (4%), bending (4%), squatting (2%). Must be able to lift 15-75 pounds. Work Environment

Work environment includes indoor and outdoor environments, including football field, grass areas and gym. Shared space may be required; moderate to high noise levels commensurate to a gym/outdoor/playground environment.
