The Sr Polysomnographic Technologist works under the general supervision of a clinical or medical director to provide comprehensive evaluation and treatment of sleep disorders. The position performs advanced duties including scoring of sleep studies, preparation of preliminary reports for physician interpretation, and final report documentation once signed off by the physician. The technologist conducts sleep studies, including advanced and complex procedures, performs diagnostic and therapeutic services, and participates in quality improvement initiatives. Responsibilities

Perform all procedures related to sleep studies including diagnostic and therapeutic procedures, MSLT, MWT, parasomnia studies, PAP and oxygen titration. Score sleep studies according to AASM guidelines and departmental policies. Prepare preliminary detailed polysomnographic reports for physician interpretation and complete final report documentation. Troubleshoot, calibrate, and perform preventive maintenance and quality control on all equipment. Mentor and guide other Polysomnographic Technologists and students. Coordinate activities within the polysomnography department and assume other duties as assigned. Qualifications

Graduate of a recognized education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s). Three years experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist in a Sleep Disorders laboratory/center. BLS – Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA) and one of the following certifications: RPSGT – Registered Polysomnographer Technologist (BRPT) or RRT‑SDS – Registered Respiratory Therapist Sleep Disorder Specialty (NBRC). Proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing English necessary to perform the essential functions of this job. Strong interpersonal and team player skills with all levels of the healthcare team. Education

Graduate of an education program approved by the credentialing body for the required credential(s). Work Experience

Three years experience as a Polysomnographic Technologist in a Sleep Disorders laboratory/center. Licenses And Certifications – Required

BLS – Basic Life Support or Instructor (AHA). RPSGT – Registered Polysomnographer Technologist (BRPT) or RRT‑SDS – Registered Respiratory Therapist Sleep Disorder Specialty (NBRC). Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Demonstrates the skills and competencies necessary to safely perform assigned job duties. Adapts to multiple ongoing priorities with minimal supervision, including organizing workflow and actively participating in problem‑solving and time management. Exhibits strong interpersonal and team player skills with all levels of the healthcare team and assures delivery of excellent customer service to all patients, visitors, physicians and co‑workers.
