Job Overview Microsoft’s Enterprise Account Team focuses on empowering customers on their digital journey. This team is responsible for envisioning new possibilities for our customers, delivering solutions that result in targeted business outcomes and driving revenue growth for Microsoft.

Role Overview As a Strategic Enterprise Account Technology Strategist, you will design and drive digital technology initiatives in partnership with your customers, supporting their desired business outcomes and achieving Microsoft’s business objectives. Paired with an Enterprise Account Executive, you will leverage Microsoft’s product portfolio and partner offerings to build a network of technology executives within your customers and bring industry-relevant solutions to help customers adopt and embrace digital technologies.

Responsibilities

Customer and Industry Insights

Synthesizes business and industry insights, conducts forecasting, and develops recommendations for managing accounts and subsidiary planning.

Applies deep expertise to identify the right Industry Sales Kits and industry partners within the customer's vertical industry, articulates market trends, and partners with customers to provide innovative solutions in new industries.

Trusted Advisor

Provides account thought leadership, shares best practices, and coaches internal resources to set strategy and lead extended teams.

Creates security thought leadership with the customer's executives, positioning security as a business enabler and instilling a security mindset in all aspects of the customer's technology landscape.

Leverages a broad knowledge of Microsoft’s product landscape, coordinates with internal and external partners to build strong industry knowledge.

Technology Strategy Formulation

Leads analysis of the overall customer situation, advises on gaps that benefit from Microsoft solutions, and plots the strategic, long‑term vision of the customer's business strategy.

Contributes to the creation of trusted, long‑term, multi‑horizon technological and business roadmaps for highly prominent, challenging, and strategic accounts.

Technology Sales: Demand Generation and Orchestration

Creates, develops, and drives opportunities based on industry best practices and presents opportunities to the customer.

Leads account strategy envisioning with the extended account team, customer, and partner to deliver outcomes for the customer through joint envisioning.

Leads the customer journey into the era of AI and Industrial Metaverse by creating a targeted approach tailored to their current business requirements.

Differentiated Value Proposition

Acts as the customer's Technology Mentor, develops extended relationships beyond core customers, and aligns Microsoft capabilities with customer needs.

Partners with a line-of-business leader to articulate how complex Microsoft technology services will meet future business needs and enable long-term growth.

Mapping and Account Planning

Helps customer technical specialists build the message to sell Microsoft offerings and contributes to stakeholder maps for accounts.

Orchestrates internal teams and partner ecosystem to ensure sufficient technical resources for demand generation.

Establishes best practices and standards around account planning and review for aligning with quota attainment, consumption goals, and customer consumption gaps.

Education and Thought Leadership

Leads customer technology engagement by motivating and inspiring technical resources and delivers regular industry/technology engagements to customer CXOs.

Uses readiness resources to demonstrate expertise in creating enablement plans and drives innovations to help customers maximize reach and impact.

Qualifications

Required: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 5+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience OR equivalent experience.

Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business or related field AND 9+ years technical consulting, technical consultative selling, practice building, or related technical/sales/industry experience OR equivalent experience.

3+ years experience in digital transformation or using technology to drive customer business outcomes.

2+ years experience in business consulting, consultative selling, or change management.

3+ years experience leading technical, support, and/or partner teams.

5+ years industry experience in oil and gas or asset‑intensive industries.

Strategic Account Technology IC4 – The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $106,400 – $203,600 per year.
