The Built Landscapes and Urban Ecosystems (BLUE) Lab at Penn State, directed by Dr. Hayden Bock, is recruiting part-time research assistant(s) for ongoing lab projects. Our work focuses on urban greenspaces and soils, with the goal of clarifying how belowground processes sustain plant health and drive ecosystem services in the environments where people live, work, and play. Responsibilities may include: Collecting plant and soil samples from field and greenhouse experiments Performing laboratory analyses Supporting experiment setup and maintenance Data entry, curation, and visualization Collaborating with graduate students and lab members on ongoing projects Qualifications: Strong interest(s) in urban ecology, plant sciences, soil science, and related fields Ability to work in a variety of conditions, including outdoors Attention to detail and organizational skills Willingness to learn new techniques and contribute as part of a team To Apply or Inquire: Interested undergraduates are encouraged to upload a short statement of interest and your CV/resume along with an application in WorkDay. Employment with the University will require successful completion of background check(s) in accordance with University policies. This position requires that you operate a motor vehicle as a part of your job duties.
