Overview
Assistant/Associate Professor for Environmental Health and Safety at Oakland University. The Department of Public and Environmental Wellness invites applications for a full-time, tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor in Environmental Health and Safety (EHS). The successful candidate will join a dynamic and multidisciplinary department committed to excellence in teaching, research, and community engagement. Responsibilities
Developing and sustaining an active scholarship agenda in Environmental Health and Safety or a related field Teaching undergraduate and/or graduate courses in EHS and related topics Engaging in service to the department, college, university, and professional communities Advising and mentoring students Contributing to program development, improvement, and accreditation activities Participating in community engagement initiatives and, where appropriate, program leadership Minimum Qualifications
A doctoral degree (PhD, DrPH, or equivalent) in Environmental Health, Occupational Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health, or a closely related field by the time of appointment Evidence of teaching effectiveness and scholarly activity appropriate to rank Preferred Qualifications
Attainment of the Certified Safety Professional (CSP) credential or other relevant professional designations (e.g., CIH, CHMM) Experience with ABET accreditation processes and standards Interest and experience in continuous program improvement, curriculum innovation, and academic leadership Evidence of successful community engagement or interdisciplinary academic collaboration Leadership roles or active participation in professional organizations related to Environmental Health and Safety, with a demonstrated commitment to advancing the field Special Instructions to Applicants
