Job Description
The Service Technician is responsible for performing vehicle repair and maintenance work as assigned in accordance with dealer and factory standards. They also will oversee the work of any apprentice technician assigned to them. Responsibilities
Receive repair orders from dispatcher and take to stall area. Perform work as outlined on repair orders with efficiency and accuracy, in accordance with dealership and factory standards. Diagnose the cause of malfunctions and perform repairs. Communicate with parts department to obtain needed parts. Save and tag parts if the job is under warranty or if requested by the customer. Examine the vehicle to determine if additional safety or service work is required. Notify service advisor if additional work outlined is not needed or required. Notify service advisor if repairs cannot be completed within the promised time. Document work performed. Road-test vehicles when required or refer to the test technician, ensuring the customer vehicle is not used for personal errands. Supervise the work of any apprentice technicians as assigned. Attend factory-sponsored training classes and stay abreast of factory technical bulletins. Ensure customers’ cars are kept clean and the shop area is neat and organized, with dealership-owned tools accounted for at all times. Understand and follow federal, state, and local regulations, such as those governing hazardous waste disposal. Follow all company safety policies and immediately report any accidents to a manager or supervisor. Qualifications
Preferred
At least 2-5 years of automotive technician experience (customer pay/warranty). ASe certification and/or trade school certification. BMW (or multi-brand) experience. Strong work ethic and ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment. Ability to follow directions, willingness to learn, and mentor teammates. Respect for teammates and a positive outlook. Required
Valid driver’s license and a good driving record. All applicants must be authorized to work in the USA. All applicants must be able to demonstrate the ability to pass pre-employment testing including background checks, MVR, drug test, and valid driver license. Compensation
Base pay range: $30.00/hr - $53.00/hr All information kept confidential according to EEO guidelines.
