Organize, coordinate and promote a comprehensive sports program that is designed to meet the needs and interests of the district and community.
Duties And Responsibilities
Instruct students and manage their behavior effectively.
Demonstrate strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Apply strong problem-solving skills.
Hold Coaching Principles Certificate (NFHS or ASEP).
Maintain Sports First Aid, Health & Safety for Coaches Certificate (ASEP or PREPARE).
Complete coaches' portion of NFHS Sportsmanship Course.
Complete NFHS Concussion course.
Complete NFHS Heat Acclimatization course.
Maintain active CPR certification with AED Training annually.
Complete NFHS Sudden Cardiac Arrest course.
Possess general knowledge of coaching techniques and procedures.
Have knowledge of the sport and specific subjects assigned.
Understand curriculum and instruction principles.
Required Skills, Knowledge And Abilities
Utilize various instructional techniques and media to meet student needs and improve athletic abilities.
Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practices to foster athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
Collaborate with school staff to plan instructional goals and ensure the educational development of athletes.
Establish and evaluate performance criteria for competition and student abilities.
Ensure safety precautions for students, equipment, and facilities.
Ensure compliance with all AHSAA rules.
Monitor and enforce student eligibility for extracurricular activities.
Coordinate with the Athletic Director on scheduling and arrangements for athletic events.
Develop and evaluate coaching programs, making adjustments as needed.
Supervise student athletes during competitions, including out-of-town trips.
Advise students on NCAA regulations regarding scholarships and recruiting.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Minimum three to five years of coaching experience.
Additional qualifications as required by the board.
Duty Days: 187
Reports To: Principal
Salary Range: From/To Supplemental Salary Schedule
