The site Hourly Safety Coordinator’s role is to actively contribute to location safety and health programs that lead to injury prevention, compliance improvements, and enhanced employee engagement. Essential Duties And Responsibilities Improve injury prevention, employee engagement, and compliance activities at the assigned location. Active participant on all location employee-led team projects; communicate projects to peers and location leaders. Serve as the location Subject Matter Expert on Behavior Based Safety (BBS) and train co-workers on the BBS Program. Conduct Safety Training (Monthly, Refresher, Initial, etc.) for peers, new hires, visitors, and vendors where appropriate. Audit On-The-Job Training for gaps and help correct gaps in the programs. Participate in Tier I and Tier II Sessions; manage safety board updates and follow-ups from sessions. Train leaders and peers on 1-on-1 Engagements and Near Miss Reporting; analyze data to identify trends and opportunities. Follow-up on Safety Flashes/Alerts from other locations. Honor site-specific standard work activities assigned to the Site Safety Coordinator. Execute other tasks aligned with compliance, injury prevention, and employee engagement initiatives. Requirements
Qualifications Bilingual preferred – Proficient in English and Spanish (read, write, speak). Passionate about safety as it relates to employee engagement, compliance, and injury prevention. Baseline knowledge of programs such as Lockout Tagout, PPE, Machine Guarding, Forklift Safety, Behavior Based Safety, 1-on-1 Engagements, Employee Led Teams, etc. Basic Microsoft skills (Outlook, PowerPoint, Word). Competent with basic measurement tools and data interpretation (calculator, ruler/tape measure). Capable of presenting to large groups and interacting with peers and site leaders. Reliable and dependable in completing work assignments; able to coach peers and leaders. Experience working in an industrial/manufacturing/warehouse environment. Physical Requirements / Working Conditions
The Safety Coordinator will primarily work Monday through Friday; site needs may require weekends, holidays, or alternative shifts. Non-traditional work schedules may be planned in advance based on location needs. Located in a manufacturing environment with a mix of office and shop-floor activities. Standing and sitting for extended periods; climbing stairs/ladders occasionally; exposure to hot/cold weather, dust, noise, odors, and moving equipment; work at ground level and on-site/off-site as needed.
